In 1952 a company named Sunline Inc. started a treat known as Sweetarts. These treats were sold in a foil twelve in each. Sweetarts come in flavors orange, cherry, grape, lime, and lemon. In 1990 they added fruit punch to the mix. They were so successful that in 1964 more than $8 million worth were sold. In 2001 Sweetarts replaced lime with green apple.
Sweetarts are tart but at the same time they are sweet.
