U.S. ARMY RANGERS

By October 30, 2016

Have you ever wondered what it takes to be an Army Ranger? Becoming a Ranger is not for everyone. Only the ones that can push to their limits and then some can be Rangers. The Ranger motto, “Sua Sponte” means “Of their own accord.” It also means that a Ranger volunteers three times; for the Army, for Airborne School, and for the Ranger Regiment.

Our country relies on the 75th Ranger Regiment for special operations or light infantry missions.  Rangers have to go through a punishing training which many recruits don’t complete. During the training, recruits are on their feet 20 hours a day sometimes, the ones who make it are elite in everything from physical strength to tactical skills.

Once a recruit finishes the 61 day assessment and becomes a Ranger, he will be doing it all: boat operations, airborne missions, vehicle operations, hand to hand combat, aerial repelling, and demolition. These are some of the things a Ranger knows how to do. In order to accomplish his missions a Ranger has to have almost superhuman endurance.  There are only about 3500 special ops Rangers but they do about 2,500 combat missions a year. “A Ranger never quits!”
