Trebuchet (1) trebuchet trebuchet-drawing1

A Trebuchet was a kind of catapult used as a seige weapon during the Middle Ages.  Trebuchets could fling stones  that weighed up to 800kg.  Sometimes trebuchets even flung dead bodies that were infected by diease to spread the diesease to the enemy.  It took a long time to load the Trebuchet so it’s rate of fire was slow. It’s range was about 300 yards, shorter than that of a long bow, which made it dangerous to be a trebuchet operator during a seige.  Even though it wasn’t terribly accurate, the trebuchet was still the most popular seige weapon during the Middle Ages.
