RiverFest, or Shall We Say RainFest?

Neither cicadas or torrential rain could dampen (haha)
the spirits of our hearty and bold festival goers.

Continually misled by false hope (mercilessly doled out by
weathermen) of light rain and no more precipitation, we donned
our varying layers of weather gear and huddled together
under umbrellas, tents, and sometimes other
objects of protection.

But, listen to music we did.
(Some of us even sang and danced in the rain.)

The shopping was good in the first ever Riverside
Makers' Mart, the baked goods stayed dry, and the
food trucks offered a hot meal on a chilly day and
a dry tent out of the mud.

In the end, the mud was thick and the puddles were deep, but those of us who triumphed over the wind and rain count ourselves happy to have experienced the epic RiverFest 2024.
