The most phalanges on a living man is 28. This man is a carpenter and his name is Devendra Suthar.He is 46 and lives in Gujarat,Western India. In his family he was the only person who had extra digits. His spouse and two children have normal amounts of fingers and toes. Since he is a carpenter, he must be extra careful when cutting wood to not cut any of his phalanges off. The reason why he has so many extra fingers and toes is an interesting “disease“ called polydactylism.
