Exploding Ants by Xander H.

By November 12, 2017

Did you know that some ants make themselves explode when attacked? I read about them in “Exploding Ants and Other Amazing Defenses.” The type of ant that explodes is the Malaysian carpenter ant. They live in the rainforests of Asia. When attacked it tightens its muscles and explodes, spewing poison in every direction. Both ant and attacker die. I bet if an anteater ate a Malaysian ant, the anteater would end up with an upset stomach?
