The Inspiration of Moby Dick by Xander H.

By November 20, 2019

Did you know there was a white whale named Mocha Dick that destroyed almost 20 whaling ships and escaped another 80 ships? About one hundred whaling ships tried to catch him and the last succeeded. This is how it happened: Mocha was watching a mother whale trying to save her calf from a whaler. The calf died and the mother charged the whaling ship. The men on the ship killed her. Mocha, enraged by their deaths, attacked the whaler, sinking a small boat and almost drowning some of the crew that tried to catch him. He was about to destroy the ship when his strength failed him. He fought till the end, but a harpoon wound killed him. Mocha Dick became famous and is now known as Moby Dick.
